The dust is settling on the busiest weekend YMCA Café has had since it opened. Staff and volunteers kept our customers fed and watered with hot food and delicious beverages flying out.
The special festive menu was a massive success and at one point we even ran out of hot chocolate!
Performances by STEAM Digital Studios choir and the Lou Ross Choir were a wonderful addition to the weekend. The children performed and sang beautifully.
The extra money generated at the weekend is vital. All the profits from the weekend go towards the work we do with vulnerable young people in the local area, helping them transform their lives and encouraging positive engagement in the local community.

“It was so lovely to see so many new faces, as well as regular ones, coming in and supporting us. It was hard work but we had our most successful weekend ever. It is even more fantastic to know that the additional income makes such a difference to the young people that live with us.”
Our festive weekend has made us extra excited for our ‘Breakfast with Santa’ event happening on Saturday 22nd.
Santa is taking time out of his busy schedule in the run up to Christmas to visit us here at YMCA North Tyneside. He has arranged for his little helpers to prepare a scrumptious breakfast on the morning of December 22nd and created a cosy little grotto full of Christmas treats and trinkets.
Children can select 4 options from the exclusive cafe menu and fill their bellies before paying a visit to Santa’s magnificent Grotto.
Adults also receive a £1 discount off their bill with a breakfast item and hot beverage costing just £2.80 including the discount. Each child will receive a gift bag from Santa himself and even have the opportunity to take a festive selfie.
This event is running from 9am until 1pm with hourly bookings available.
