JOB TYPE: Bank Staff (Zero hours)

SALARY: Up to £9.60 per hour

Job Description

We are looking for someone who strives to achieve the highest of standards in what they do and ensure that all YMCA customers experience great facilities in terms of clean, safe and well maintained.

In this role your main responsibilities will include:

  • To clean within YMCA North Tyneside’s building; as specified in “Gym Cleaner/Caretaker – Specific Responsibilities” or as briefed by your Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager so that YMCA is able to offer excellent customer service to members, visitors, tenants and staff in terms of the safety, usability and presentation of the facilities.
  • Ensuring STANDARDS* are met at all times. (*Detailed separately).
  • To complete daily and cyclical cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that we meet our responsibilities in terms of Health and Safety and client care.
  • To adhere to all Health and Safety guidelines and policies within the organisation and, to ensure that other staff do the same.
  • The effective completion of documentation, as and when required.
  • To ensure the buildings are secure at all times, as specified.
  • To take emergency action (e.g. shutting off the water) to prevent a situation from worsening.
  • To provide temporary or emergency cover to other areas of the business, as required, to ensure that they are able to operate.
  • To suggest refinements to procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cleaning duties; recommending products, systems, and processes to the Gym Manager/Customer Service Team Leader.
  • Provide cover for other Caretaking/Cleaning staff in the event of sickness or absence at short notice, as well as for holidays.
  • To undertake any reasonable task requested or agreed upon by your Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.
