Who are we?

YMCA North Tyneside is a Voluntary Sector Organisation undertaking youth and community programme work in areas of North Tyneside, South Tyneside, and Teesdale. We are part of the worldwide YMCA movement, which started in London in 1844 has grown to become the world’s largest and oldest youth movement.

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager who’s ready to make the move to an organisation where they can really make a difference. YMCA North Tyneside provides homes for 27 young homeless people in North Shields and well as operating a community gym and café and a 60 place Day Nursery for children aged 0 to 5 years. With all of these different activities going on it is a dynamic place to work.

The successful candidate will be able to effectively scope out requests and make decisions as to whether to deploy the internal team or to outsource the work to contractors. They need to be effective organisers; juggling day-to-day reactive jobs with annual maintenance inspections and servicing, as well as planning in refurbishment works to kitchens, bathrooms, office and community spaces.

To be successful in this role you will need to have undergone a relevant qualifcation and be able to provide this during your interview.
