Nursery Practitioner – North Shields

✅ What Will You Be Doing?

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will work throughout our nursery rooms to deliver an appropriately high standard of childcare and early education. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the room lead and carrying out the planning and delivery of engaging activities to bring about effective learning.
• Listening carefully to children, valuing their views, and ensuring every child is treated as an individual in line with EYFS requirements.
• Communicating sensitively and working in close partnership with parents, carers, and families to share information regarding their child’s well-being and development.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the Nursery management team to help the setting reach an “Outstanding” grading with OFSTED.

🔑 What Skills and Experience Do You Need?

To be successful in this rewarding role, it is essential that you have:

• A Level 3 childcare qualification (NNEB, BTEC, NVQ, CACHE, or similar).
• Detailed knowledge and a clear understanding of Ofsted Standards and the EYFS framework.
• The ability to plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate learning opportunities, alongside clear leadership and teamwork skills.
• A current first aid qualification.

While not essential, the following are desirable:

• At least 2 years of post-qualifying experience in a daycare setting.
• Experience working in a culturally diverse area and a commitment to equal opportunities.
• A full, clean driving licence.
