βœ… What Will You Be Doing?

As a Finance Assistant, you will be a vital part of our team, undertaking day-to-day transactional activities for both YMCA North Tyneside and our subsidiary, Patterdale Hall Estates Ltd (PHEL). Your main responsibilities include:

  • Transactional Accuracy: Processing and posting invoices, receipts, and payments while performing bank and supplier reconciliations.
  • Service Support: Recording housing benefits, rent, and service charge receipts to maintain good financial control.
  • Team Collaboration: Supporting the Finance Manager with month-end/year-end closing, monitoring the finance inbox, and assisting with statutory audits.
  • Effective Communication: Liaising with staff across all functions to provide financial administration support.

 πŸ”‘ What Skills and Experience Do You Need?

To be successful in this essential role, it is important that you have:

  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping (an AAT qualification is desirable).
  • Software Proficiency: Professional experience with Google Sheets or Excel; experience with Xero software is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work accurately under pressure.
  • Professionalism: Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Note: This is a Fixed Term Contract (3 months) offering up to 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
