Our Baby Room is a large, open, and inviting space designed for 0 to 2-year-olds to explore, move, and grow! Our dedicated team has created stimulating environments that cater to the unique developmental needs of our littlest learners. ๐
๐จ Visual Discovery & Focus
We feature a specialized Black and White area, designed with intention! Research shows that high-contrast patterns register powerfully on a babyโs retina, sending the strongest visual signals to their brain to support early cognitive development. ๐ฆ
๐ชต Curiosity & Heuristic Play
Our Heuristic area is filled with a variety of natural and everyday objects. By exploring textures and shapes they might not usually encounter, babies engage their senses and ignite their natural curiosity about the world around them. ๐
๐ Early Literacy & Story Magic
Itโs never too early to fall in love with books! Our Reading area is stocked with age-appropriate, interactive stories. We even use special Story Cushionsโcomplete with books and propsโto bring tales to life and make reading a truly hands-on experience. ๐
๐งธ Gentle Care & Quiet Moments
We have an Exclusive Area for our youngest babies, equipped with play gyms and sitting supports for focused one-to-one time with their key worker. When itโs time to recharge, our adjoining Sleep Room provides a peaceful, undisturbed space for sweet dreams away from the busy play areas. ๐ค

Our Heuristic and Loose Parts area uses natural wood, metal, and textiles to engage the senses. ๐๏ธ Here, a simple wood off-cut isn’t just woodโitโs a magic wand, a tower, or a pencil! ๐ช The possibilities are endless.

In our Role Play corner, toddlers build social skills and confidence. ๐ค By sharing ideas and playing together, they begin to form their very first meaningful friendships with their peers. ๐ฏโโ๏ธ

We have created a cosy story area where children can dive into books and join in with staff-led story sessions. ๐ Books are brilliant for firing up imaginations and helping children fall in love with storytelling from an early age! ๐งโโ๏ธ
๐ Self-Registration & Feelings
Our Circle Time area is a key part of the day! โญ Here, children use self-registration to recognise their own names and picturesโa fantastic skill for school readiness. ๐ We also use this time to talk about feelings, helping children understand and express their emotions in a supportive environment. โค๏ธ
๐ฐ Imagination & Construction
Our Role Play area changes regularly to keep things exciting! ๐ญ Whether they are pretending to be chefs or doctors, role play is essential for developing social skills and self-expression. ๐ฃ๏ธ For the little builders, our Construction and Small World areas allow them to create incredible structures and bring stories to life with mini figures! ๐งฑ๐ค

We are incredibly proud of our fantastic Sensory Room, made possible by the Thomas Cook Childrenโs Charity. Tucked away in a truly unique spotโwhat used to be the bankโs original safe!โthis windowless, enclosed space provides the perfect immersive environment for sensory exploration. ๐ฆ

Our room is packed with high-tech resources designed to dazzle the senses! From mesmerising bubble tubes and glowing UV lighting to interactive floor tiles and musical instruments, there is always something new for little hands and eyes to discover. ๐ก

The Sensory Room allows children to interact with the world using all their sensesโtouch, sound, and even smell! It provides a safe, controlled space where they can engage with unique objects and resources they might not encounter in everyday play, helping to spark their imagination and curiosity. ๐

Beyond the excitement, this room serves as a vital sanctuary for calm sensory engagement. It is a peaceful retreat that offers specialized support for children with additional needs, including autism, Aspergerโs, and specific behavioral needs, ensuring every child has a space where they feel comfortable and supported. ๐ค
