LEADERS FOR LIFE
PROGRAMME

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Our Leaders For Life programme enables young people to realise their potential as they grow to HOPE, BELONG, CONTRIBUTE, and THRIVE.

Over the course of 14 weeks, young people will engage with YMCA and corporate partners to develop essential life and employability skills. We will have a number of experience-based sessions that are co-designed with the participants, in a way that gently pushes young people out of their comfort zone.

The programme will cover the following themes:

– Knowing myself

– Listening & perception

– Relationships

– Attitudes & stereotypes

– Anger & assertiveness

– Conflict & negotiation

– Teamwork & leadership

– Taking care of myself

– Budgeting

– Options & the future

– CV writing & interviews

Please note spaces are limited and first come, first served. Grab your place now!

Throughout this programme, we hope that the young people who engage will;

HOPE – raising aspirations in a supportive environment

BELONG – increased happiness, greater interests, more confident, great sense of connection to their wider community

CONTRIBUTE – developed sense of meaning or purpose, they will feel able to contribute to their local community through meaningful volunteering or paid employment opportunities

THRIVE – securing employment, volunteering or further education, better mental and emotional wellbeing, a sense of accomplishment
