Covid 19 Update from YMCA North Tyneside
16 Mar, 2020
YMCA North Tyneside is taking the spread of Coronavirus in the UK and the North East extremely seriously. As always our number one priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our people, customers and beneficiaries providing a safe and clean environment for you all to enjoy.

We are in daily contact with all team members working in our various functions, who continue to be vigilant around hygiene and cleaning regimes including thorough, frequent handwashing. We have also increased our cleaning, particularly for those areas touched regularly by staff, children, young people and customers.

We are staying up to date and well informed of the developing situation and are following the advice and recommendations from the Local Authority, Government, Public Health England and the World Health Organisation.

To also help minimise the spread of the virus, we are following the latest Government recommendations and asking any staff member or volunteer with flu-like symptoms to self-isolate for seven days. We will also continue to request that any staff member returning from certain affected areas abroad – or those who have been in close personal contact with someone who has contracted the virus to report this as soon as possible.

Customers are still welcome to use reusable cups in our YMCA Cafe. We are monitoring the situation closely and will amend any policies in line with Government advice. However, for now, we want to convey that we are trying our hardest to have ‘Business as Usual’.

Can I personally thank you for your continued support of YMCA North Tyneside – your support is vital to our continued delivery of excellent services in excellent spaces.

Dean Titterton

Chief Executive Officer
