Mentor Programme Crowdfunder

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Imagine a world where every young person has the chance to reach their full potential. A world where they believe in themselves, are resilient in the face of challenges, and have the tools to build a brighter future.

At YMCA North Tyneside, we’re committed to making that world a reality. Our mentoring programme has proven to be a lifeline for countless young people, providing them with the support, guidance, and friendship they need to thrive.

58% of young people say their mentor has supported their mental health.

By partnering with dedicated volunteers, we create meaningful connections that empower young people to:

    • Build self-confidence: Through regular one-on-one sessions, mentors provide encouragement and positive reinforcement, helping young people develop a strong sense of self-worth.
    • Develop essential life skills: Mentors guide young people in setting goals, problem-solving, and making informed decisions, equipping them with the tools they need to succeed.
    • Overcome challenges: When life gets tough, mentors offer a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on, helping young people navigate difficult times and emerge stronger.
    • Engage in new and exciting activities and opportunities: Our mentoring programme provides a budget for the young person and volunteer mentor to engage in a range of different activities and opportunities within their local community, allowing them to build their relationship and navigate discussions and a different environment to the classroom.

By donating towards our Crowdfunder for our Mentor Programme, you’ll be investing directly in the future of our young people in North Tyneside and County Durham, giving them the chance to build stronger, more fulfilling lives. Your contribution will help us:

  • Recruit and train more volunteer mentors.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources for mentors and mentees.
  • Provide a budget for the young person and mentor to enjoy their mentoring sessions.
  • Expand our programme to reach even more young people in need.
