Children's Choir entertaining everyone in the café
The dust is settling on the busiest weekend YMCA Café has had since it opened. Staff and volunteers kept our customers fed and watered with hot food and delicious beverages flying out. The special festive menu was a massive success and at one point we even ran out of hot chocolate! Our busiest weekend yet! Festive Fun For All at YMCA

This weekend we are opening our café doors from 9am until 4pm on both Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December.   We are putting on a special Festive Menu for the weekend too! Between 9am and 11am we will be serving hot bacon or sausage sandwiches which can be enjoyed with a hot beverage. From 11am until 4pm there will be two types of hot homemade soup, delicious roast turkey buns with stuffing, cranberry sauce or gravy,

Christmas Giving Tree

Our beautiful handcrafted Christmas Baubles are back for a second year running. We have a limited number available to purchase from YMCA reception from Monday 26th of November.  For a suggested donation of £3 you get 2 beautiful handmade decorations. One to hang on our Christmas tree in reception with your personal gift tag, and the other to take home and hang on your own tree as a reminder of the difference you have made

Rememberance in Teesdale

On the 11th November people all over the world marked the 100 years since peace was declared following World War 1.  At our youth clubs in Teesdale, the youth workers wanted to ensure that the young people we work with had a solid understanding of why we have remembrance day, the importance of the poppy and the role YMCA played in those efforts. This weekend almost 100 people turned up to see the South Tyneside Mayor and Deputy Mayor unveil a plaque to commemorate those who were killed following a Zeppelin raid during World War One. Both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor spent almost an hour talking to the young people about the mural they had painted in the subway, thanking them for their hard work.    The mural project was designed and painted by young people involved within the
