Happy New Year! 2015 was a truly exciting time for YMCA North Tyneside. YMCA Gym Community Christmas Feast
Christmas can be a very lonely time for many people, especially the elderly who may have lost partners or are unable to travel to visit their family. Walking in through Reception, the once busy hub at the centre of our YMCA is currently boarded up, looking bleak and inundated with workman in hard hats and high Vis jackets. Music course will prove a hit!
North Tyneside has already turned out chart-topping pop stars such as Sting, Neil Tennant and Andy Taylor, and now Wallsend’s Tyne Metropolitan College is fine-tuning its music production course in a bid to encourage further talent. The course has been improved by adding YMCA Music Studios in Queen Alexandra Road West, North Shields, to the facilities it uses. Run Panda, Run!

The Great North Run is an amazing fun-packed event that takes the North East by storm every year! People travel nationally and internationally to take part in the 13.1 mile race, work up a sweat and raise money for their chosen charities. This year, six of our YMCA North Tyneside staff including the YMCA Panda took up the challenge and ran alongside 57,000 runners including Mo Farah. Our competitors ran to raise money for one of our main causes
