Join YMCA North Tyneside and its subsidiaries as a Safety & Compliance Manager, where you’ll play a crucial role in creating and maintaining safe and healthy work environments.
As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you’ll develop, implement, and oversee health and safety policies and procedures across all areas of operation. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments, providing training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety awareness. Who we are looking for
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent accreditation.
- Relevant degree level qualification in health and safety management, occupational safety, building surveying, or related field (or proven relevant experience – see below).
Experience:
- Experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within a multi-site organisation.
- Demonstrated understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, developing policies, and delivering training programs.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures.
