We are currently recruiting for an exciting new role! As we growing bigger we are now looking for a Safety & Compliance Manager to join our Estates Team.

 

Job Title: Safety & Compliance Officer

Location: YMCA North Tyneside, Church Way, North Shields, NE29 0AB

Hours per week: 37.5 hours

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £30’000 – £34’000 (pro rata)

Join YMCA North Tyneside and its subsidiaries as a Safety & Compliance Manager, where you’ll play a crucial role in creating and maintaining safe and healthy work environments.

As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you’ll develop, implement, and oversee health and safety policies and procedures across all areas of operation. Your responsibilities will include conducting risk assessments, providing training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety awareness. If you’re passionate about promoting workplace safety and you value making a positive impact on the standards of accommodation in social housing, this role is perfect for you.

Who we are looking for

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent accreditation.
  • Relevant degree level qualification in health and safety management, occupational safety, building surveying, or related field (or proven relevant experience – see below).

Experience:

  • Experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within a multi-site organisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments, developing policies, and delivering training programs.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement appropriate control measures.
