Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is handy and can get those awkward jobs done, from clearing a flat when a resident moves out and helping get it ready for a new tenant, to completing repairs on things such as locks and minor plumbing work.
You will be part of the YMCA North Tyneside team but will be based in Stockton and Horden looking after our 19 supported properties in these areas so it’s advantageous for you to drive. You will be paid mileage for travelling between sites. You will be part of a small team, Chloe (Housing Support Worker) and Sarah (Assistant Supported Accommodations Manager for Stockton). Role Details:
The purpose of this role will be to carry out maintenance and repair work, this includes but is not limited to clearing/cleaning flats, decorating, minor repairs and plumbing tasks like fitting a washer ect.
- This is a ‘hands on’ post – as stated above, a positive can-do approach is imperative with the ability to complete “DIY type” jobs.
- Responsible for coordinating and controlling works and refurbishments with minimum disturbance to our residents.
- Carry out routine defect checks and repairs and liaise with the Service Manager if specialist repairs are required.
- Ensure repairs are recorded when needed then updated once completed.
